I tried to make summarize topics in my Post Two Years of TRS Rule in Telangana in layman terms without getting into any technical topics, number crunching or making comparisons with any other state.
I welcome the dissent post and have noted the underlying message implying that Andhra Pradesh has done much better than Telangana. It is indeed Good News and I am very happy for the people of Andhra Pradesh who seem to be progressing faster than Telangana. KCR has always said that Telanganite’s always believe in Live and Let Live and is reflected in the way his team went and met Maharashtra CM and Karnataka CM for developing friendly relationship and reach agreements on inter-state projects. May AP keep Growing Faster and Faster.
In the rebuttal post, the points below would help readers get a better perspective:
My Post:
Economy:
As per the Economic Outlook placed in assembly state is expected to record 9.2% GSDP against the national average of 7.57%. This is very commendable as it comes on top of negative growth in agriculture due to failed monsoon and severe drought in most parts of the state. In addition, State also managed to keep Inflation to Consumers @ 4.3%
Dissent or Elaboration!
Agriculture:
Two successive years of deficit rainfall are having a huge impact on the farmers and the agriculture economy. 2015-16 has registered -10.3% growth in agriculture economy.
Economy
In 2015-16 Telangana witnessed an impressive growth of 9.2% GSDP much above the national average despite a poor monsoon leading to a negative growth in agriculture. A deeper look into the numbers says a slightly different story.
Agricultural economy in AP witnessed 8.4% increase as against a -10.3% negative increase in Telangana.
RESPONSE
I have elaborated my point with figures that in spite of severe drought shrinking the agriculture by double digits, the state managed to achieve an overall 9.2% Growth rate, I’m happy for Andhra doing better in Agriculture and Overall as it only clarifies the Drought was acute in Telangana, not AP and state bifurcation had no negative impact on the economy of AP. Many thanks for setting aside misgivings AP is impacted due to bifurcation.

RESPONSE
Check the numbers below presented by the State Finance Minister to AP assembly in the 2016 Sate Budget documents that give the numbers behind the number Rs 1, 12,108 Crores Revised 2015-16 Budget estimates.
States Own Tax, States Own Non Tax, Grant-in-aid from Center are just the Same as presented exactly one year before for budget approval, except States’ share in Central Taxes that is published by Center to each state, which no state can change while presenting its budgets to the assembly.
It is up to the readers to decide whether AP CM should be recommended to Guinness Book for such feat or conclude this is as simply copy paste number that should raise serious question on credibility on the numbers coming out from AP Government!!
My Post:
Social Welfare and Inclusive Growth
- This is the best indicator of CM KCR Government and other states may start adopting some of the good practices brought in by TRS Government
Dissent or Endorsement!
Welfare Schemes:
Telangana has done well in welfare schemes where no execution is required, except for signing a cheque.
