The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has launched a campaign aimed at encouraging passengers to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections and exercise their democratic right to vote.
This aligns with the Election Commission of India's (ECI) various initiatives to involve and empower citizens, encouraging them to actively partake in the elections.
Passengers who participate in the campaign by casting their votes will qualify for a complimentary upgrade to the Premium Coach from the standard coach on the Namo Bharat train.
To avail of this offer, they simply need to purchase their standard coach ticket from the 'RRTS Connect app' and present their 'inked finger' to the station staff near the AFC gates of the Premium Lounge at the platform level. This offer is exclusively available on April 26.
The Namo Bharat train comprises six coaches, with one designated as a premium coach and the remaining five as standard coaches. Passengers booking their standard coach tickets through the 'RRTS Connect App' are eligible for this upgrade.
Aligned with the Election Commission of India's 'Chunav Ka Parv, Desh Ka Garv' campaign, which aims to enhance voter participation in the General Elections 2024, this initiative aims to foster a sense of community and civic responsibility among passengers. It underscores the importance of participating in the electoral process.
Passengers are being offered the opportunity to experience the elevated comfort and convenience of the Premium Coach on the Namo Bharat train by NCRTC.
The spacious and comfortable Premium Coach on the Namo Bharat trains is fitted with cushioned reclining seats, along with charging points for mobile phones and laptops available at each seat to facilitate uninterrupted work and entertainment for commuters.
Additionally, it boasts a range of commuter-centric features including coat hooks, magazine holders, and footrests, among others.
At present, a 34 km section between Sahibabad and Modi Nagar North of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is operational, encompassing eight stations: Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Duhai Depot, Murad Nagar, Modi Nagar South, and Modi Nagar North.
As construction advances rapidly on the remaining stretches of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, NCRTC remains dedicated to delivering a world-class transportation system by the anticipated operational deadline of June 2025.
