CDS General Anil Chauhan discusses security challenges and defense cooperation with foreign chiefs

During the Raisina Dialogue in Delhi, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan engaged in meetings with Chiefs of Defence from friendly countries, according to defence officials. General Chauhan discussed security challenges and ways to enhance defence cooperation with the chiefs of other countries during the meeting.
General Chauhan, along with other senior Indian defense personnel, met with French Navy Chief Admiral Nicolas Vaujour. They discussed mutual strategic interests, security challenges in the Indian Ocean Region, and ways to enhance maritime collaboration. Both sides affirmed significant progress in bilateral defense cooperation between the two nations.
In a post on X, Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff stated that Admiral Nicolas Vaujour, the French Chief of Naval Staff, met with General Anil Chauhan, the Chief of Defence Staff of India.
Discussions were held on issues of mutual strategic interest and security challenges in the Indian Ocean Region, with a focus on furthering maritime collaboration. Both parties affirmed significant progress in bilateral defense cooperation between the two nations.
The ninth edition of the Raisina Dialogue, India's flagship conference on geopolitics and geoeconomics, is currently underway in Delhi from February 21 to 23. The summit is dedicated to addressing the most challenging issues facing the global community.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has been designated as the Chief Guest and keynote speaker of the summit. He, alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi, inaugurated the Raisina Dialogue.
The Ministry of External Affairs is organizing the Raisina Dialogue in collaboration with the Observer Research Foundation. Representatives from over 100 nations, including ministers, National Security Advisors, senior officials, and delegates from various sectors such as industry, technology, finance, and others, are participating in the conference.
The Ministry of External Affairs has outlined the thematic pillars of the Raisina Dialogue as follows, "Tech Frontiers: Regulations and Realities," "Peace with the Planet: Invest and Innovate, War and Peace, Armouries and Asymmetries, Decolonising Multilateralism, Institutions and Inclusion, and The Post-2030 Agenda, People and Progress." These themes encapsulate the key focus areas for discussions and deliberations during the conference.
