Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, the Chief of the Air Staff, inaugurated the Indian Air Force Emergency Medical Response System (EMRS) facility at the Command Hospital in Bengaluru.
The EMRS introduces a 24x7 pan-IAF helpline for serving IAF personnel and their dependents. This service offers expert medical guidance, rapid evacuation, and prompt definitive care for medical emergencies.
The trained medical team at the helpline will ensure the fastest response from the nearest medical establishment based on the nature of the emergency.
In March, Air Chief Marshal Chaudhari visited the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) in Delhi. C-DOT is the premier telecom research and development centre of the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications.
The Ministry of Communications states that C-DOT is actively developing indigenous, secure telecom solutions for critical infrastructure, including defence communications and cyber security.
C-DOT CEO Rajkumar Upadhyay presented a comprehensive overview of the telecom product portfolio and key telecom security solutions to the visiting dignitaries. The presentation covered security operation centres for real-time malware detection in networks, enterprise security centres for detecting and mitigating threats at an enterprise level, quantum key distribution, and post-quantum cryptography.
During the visit, discussions covered various solutions including 4G and 5G core and RAN, disaster management solutions using CAP, optical transport and access solutions, and switching and routing solutions. A live demonstration of these solutions was also conducted to showcase their functionality.
Air Chief Marshal Chaudhari engaged with senior officials of C-DOT and emphasised the importance of enhancing synergy between C-DOT and the Air Force. He highlighted the necessity of integrating futuristic and advanced secured communication solutions, particularly amidst the evolving landscape from network-centric to data-centric warfare.
CEO Rajkumar Upadhyay assured the Air Chief of C-DOT's dedication to developing state-of-the-art security solutions tailored to the needs and requirements of the Air Force.
