Chhattisgarh Congress leader Radhika Khera, who resigned from the party, alleged disrespect from the state unit and claimed that she faced snubs due to her failure to adhere to the party's "anti-Hindu ideology".
Khera, speaking to the media, made startling allegations regarding her experiences during Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. She claimed that Sushil Anand Shukla, the media chairman of Chhattisgarh Congress, offered her alcohol during the yatra, and along with 5-6 party workers, visited her room in an inebriated state. Despite informing Sachin Pilot and Jairam Ramesh about the incidents, no action was taken.
Furthermore, Khera asserted that she was sidelined within the party for not aligning with its alleged anti-Hindu stance. She recounted an incident on the evening of the 30th where she confronted Sushil Anand Shukla at the state Congress office.
She claimed to have been verbally abused and locked inside the office, while Shukla and two other state spokespersons hurled abuses at her. Despite her complaints to the Congress Maha Mantri, her grievances were ignored.
Khera revealed that her perception of the Congress party changed after attending the Pran Prathistha ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22, where she claimed to have experienced the alleged anti-Hindu sentiments within the party.
Expressing her sentiments, Khera stated, "I always heard that Congress is anti-Ram, anti-Sanatan and anti-Hindu but I never believed it." She recounted Mahatma Gandhi's practice of beginning meetings with 'Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram'.
However, her views changed after visiting the Ram temple with her grandmother and displaying a 'Jai Shri Ram' flag on her house door upon returning. This action drew ire from the Congress party, leading to criticism whenever she shared photos or videos of her visit to Ayodhya during the ongoing election process.
In her resignation letter addressed to Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Khera pledged to expose individuals within the party harbouring a "male chauvinistic mentality". She attributed the backlash she faced within the party to her visit to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and her desire to witness the Ram Lalla idol.

In a recent development, Radhika Khera expressed her dismay over facing opposition within the Congress party for her visit to the sacred site of Ayodhya.
Khera, who has devoted over 22 years to the party, highlighted her shock at encountering significant resistance despite her years of dedicated service, citing her support for Ram in Ayodhya as the cause.
The incident comes amidst a viral video where Khera purportedly mentioned resigning due to "insult," with some attributing it to a disagreement between her and a senior party member.
