Why I Support Donald Trump

Many Conservatives and Republicans are still baffled by the Donald Trump phenomenon. Many people are still perched upon their ivory towers casting down their righteous indignation at the lowly masses who could support such a charlatan. A leftist in disguise. A lifelong Democrat. A man such as Donald Trump. They fail to understand the fundamentals of the situation.
I claim to be “conservative” in my political leanings. There are a lot of misconceptions about “conservatives”. Being conservative simply means that I want less government and less regulation and less interference in my life from the government. It means more freedom and a conservative approach to the powers of the state. It also means being a traditionalist on some key issues like marriage, abortion, taxes, etc. But let’s set all that aside. Why would a conservative endorse Donald Trump, with his track record of supporting things like eminent domain, gun control, abortion, etc?
People like me, conservatives who support Donald Trump, we know all those things. We get it. We’re not dumb. We hear the talking points. We know. IT DOESN’T MATTER. People say, “Well don’t you know what he said about the assault weapons ban?” Yes, in the year 1998? The man is from New York City, basically one big gun free zone and a police state. It’s just normal to him. But he has since reversed that position upon the broadening of his horizons. Can people not change their minds? Can facts not be presented that influence decision making? Do we want someone as a President who never changes their opinion regardless of new data or information? Do we want someone as president who can never acknowledge that they may have been wrong on any particular policy and any point in time? Someone who rides their bad decisions off a cliff and takes all of us with him? The facts have started to show that more guns does mean less crime. It is a statistical fact. Compare this to Barack Obama’s obsession with gun control in lieu of the facts. Islamic terrorists kill people with legally purchased firearms and all Obama can think is gun control. Do we want 4 to 8 more years of a party-line robot?
Another frequent criticism, “He used to be a Democrat!” So was I when I was 15. ‘Democrat’ just sounded so cool you know, like ‘Democracy’… and you know, like all the cool Presidents like JFK and FDR and all that. How could you not support democracy and stuff? But aside from the vanity of the Democrat brand, there is very little substance under the surface of the labeling. The peak of the Democrat brand was in 2008 with Barack Hussein Obama-First Black President. Smartest President Ever. In 2008, everyone was a Democrat. Now you can’t find one anywhere. Obama has destroyed the brand. Congressional / Senate Democrat leadership has destroyed the brand. No one wanted Obamacare. No one wanted to hand over Iraq to ISIS. No one wanted more gun control. No one wanted to butcher live babies and sell them for profit. No one wanted transgender restrooms for kindergarteners. Literally, Democrat voter identification is at its lowest point in decades. Nobody is claiming it anymore. So of course Donald Trump left the Democrat party. How could any rational person still support the ineptitude, blatant lies, overt socialism, and general childishness and stupidity of the modern Democrat party? Donald Trump is simply following a trend of many Americans over the last 8 years of the Obama regime. The voters thought they were getting something different. The full charade of progressive leftism has been on display since 2006, almost 10 years now, and no one is any better for it. If anyone is doing any better they are doing so in spite of the majority Democrat government, not thanks to it. So it’s no wonder that Donald Trump left the Democrat party along with millions of other Americans.
There are many other simple talking points to dispel. But like I said before they are merely talking points and it doesn’t matter which one you present, we (Trump supporters) know them, we rationalize them, and we don’t care. This is not about the particulars. This is not about the talking points or the fact sheet. It’s about destruction. It’s about “You’re fired.” It’s about someone so hated by the media establishment, someone so hated by the Democrat establishment, and someone so hated by the Republican establishment. The hate and disgust expressed by the establishment, these are all positives that outweigh any possible negative criticism or talking point. Americans are sick – DISGUSTED – with the establishment that has led them down this path of failure and weakness, poverty, and cultural depravity. From top to bottom, starting with the media and ending in Washington DC, Americans have had enough. Broken promises, false choices, phony narratives… We are smart people. We know the flaws of Donald Trump. We know that no one is perfect. And we know Donald Trump has his flaws. But we recognize that he is the hammer with which we hope to destroy the establishment, or at least to exact our revenge. Yes we may get some splinters in our fingers while wielding this tool of destruction, but those splinters are worth every bit of pain as the shards and remnants of the establishment come crashing down.
Donald Trump is a skilled international business man. He is a proud capitalist. He is proud to be an American. Instead of vying to be the next usher of American decline, he wants to make America great again. He knows when to fire people. He knows when to change his mind. Donald Trump represents the anathema to all the nonsense we have been fed for decades from the media, pop culture, and the government. I support Donald Trump because I am a realist. He owns the media, he drives the narrative. They can’t control him, they react to him. The establishment fears him because of the destruction he can wield and are terrified of him exposing their corrupt schemes and bringing them directly to the American people. One little known fact due to media suppression is that one of Donald Trump’s best groups of supporters is REGISTERED DEMOCRATS. It’s a phenomenon that transcends party lines. We may be looking at a landslide in November; a populist revolt of the people against the establishment. We can only hope so.
