The writing is on the wall- Pakistani military IS planning a coup. Let me explain in detail how. Please note that I am no expert on Pakistan but I've been tracking Pakistan news over and also its history. A cursory reading of Husain Haqqani's “Magnificent Delusions: Pakistan, the United States, and an Epic History of Misunderstanding” will tell you much about how the Pakistani military establishment functions. It has a grip on each arm of the state to such an extent that some political parties act as puppets or arms of its policy. Right now you would relate PTI with it and in the past PML(N) [as per Haqqani's book-page 281] has acted in a similar way.
GEO recently did a piece on how RAW is planning to assassinate the Prime Minster of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif. It quotes the Punjab Home Department’s high alert issued. Apart from that, “PM Nawaz Sharif’s special assistant Musadik Malik when contacted told Geo News that it was a conspiracy but ‘we know how to protect our Prime Minister.” It doesn’t specify what that “conspiracy” is. It is common knowledge that Pakistan is almost in total control of the military. ISI has penetrated many organizations in Pakistan.
Military takeover in the office of NSA was evident when Lt. General (Retd.) Nasser Khan Janjua replaced Sartaj Aziz. As per Dawn, this highlights the military-civilian government tussle in Pakistan- “The military too had reportedly been pressing the government for bringing in a new NSA. The appointment of a retired general as the NSA is being seen as a sign of shrinking control of the civilian administration over national security which has traditionally been the military’s domain”
US has side-lined Pakistan almost completely. China has now replaced it as its principal benefactor. Iran shelled Pakistan last week to destroy hideouts of Jundullah that it tries to push in. This is not the first time though. This has occurred many times in the past too. An important point to be noted here is that Pakistan is a nuclear power & Iran is not. It has done conventional strikes on Pakistan a number of times in the past. Pakistan's reply as always is it doesn't harbour, nurture or breed Jundullah terrorists. Also it goes on to blame Iran of border violations without provocation. It is the same line that it toes with Afghanistan with respect to Taliban & LeT and India about LeT and other terrorists it tries to infiltrate in the midst of ceasefire violations. Even Pakistan's “good friend” China has complained of insurgents being trained in Pakistan as chronicled here. 1.http://thediplomat.com/2014/08/china-wonders-if-pakistan-is-responsible-for-xinjiang-violence/

India does not benefit with a military coup in Pakistan, with its warmongering generals in order to hide the sorry state of affairs in their country create regular ceasefire violations. Hence India will be keeping a close watch on these happenings in Pakistan
