India’s Largest Tax Reform -The GST Bill finally passes in the Rajya Sabha

The Rajya Sabha on August 3, 2016 voted to clear the 122nd Constitutional Amendment bill that allows for the Goods and Services Tax to be implemented. The Bill was passed unanimously in the Rajya Sabha with all the lawmakers in the house voting for it. The AIADMK who opposed the Bill staged a walkout. There was a debate that preceded the vote where all parties put forward their views on the GST.
