Over the last 2 weeks, political pundits across the spectrum have watched in shock and amusement as to how the Samajwadi Party leadership has imploded. From the chacha-bhatija war it has now turned into a full blow family feud. One of side is the CM Akhilesh Yadav, who was earlier suspended from the SP but came back to become the national president of SP. With him is his uncle Ram Gopal Yadav who has been suspended multiple times from SP, but for now is back in the SP under Akhilesh Yadav.
On the other side is Mulayam Singh Yadav, the father of Akhilesh Yadav and the past national president f SP who earlier suspended Akhilesh and Ram Gopal Yadav but now is ousted himself from the post of president. With him is Shivpal Yadav who was the president of SP in UP and a minister in the Akhilesh Yadav government but now stands ousted from his position. In between all of this is the proverbial cat with nine lives, Amar Singh. He made another comeback, got himself a Rajya Sabha nomination but now is the bone of contention between the two camps.
Here Shivpal Yadav is instructing Mulayam Singh Yadav to make an ‘announcement’ about Akhilesh.

The fight which had started with the power struggle in UP then went on to the ticket distribution for the assembly elections and finally culminated in an ugly public spat between the families. Now the fight has resumed amongst the camps to see who gets the symbol in case of a split between the factions.
Here is the video of the SP National Executive where Akhilesh Yadav replaced Mulayam Singh Yadav as the national president.
Meanwhile party oldtimers like Azam Khan, Naresh Agarwal and others stand divided on the issue as well.
