Convert, Die or Flee!”  Those were the three choices given to us by Islamic terrorists. We had no choice but to flee. Overnight, one of the largest mass exoduses in last fifty years started and we became homeless refugees in our own country. Twenty-six years ago, as always, September brought with itself a nip in the air, flaming orange leaves and a lovely autumn Sun.

India is a large, complex and beautiful country of diverse faiths and cultures. Practically every religious denomination that exists on this planet has a presence in this country.

When religious reforms become the responsibility of the legislature and the judiciary in India it always ends up maintaining the status quo, without any redressal of the aggrieved party, whoever may that party be. Constitutional rights rarely carry force in India, particularly when they come to face religious injunctions and customs.
