Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday gave 71,000 appointment letters to new recruits as part of the Centre's 'Rozgar Mela' initiative.
PM Modi addressed the newly appointed recruits via video conferencing.
The appointment letters given are for multiple posts like teachers, lecturers, nurses, nursing officers, doctors, pharmacists, Radiographers and other technical and paramedical posts are also being filled.
This is in addition to the 75,000 appointment letters that were given by the government in the month of October.
A significant number of posts are also being filled by the ministry of home affairs in various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).
The 'Rozgar Mela' is a step towards the fulfilment of the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord the highest priority to employment generation.
The Prime Minister also launched Karmayogi Prarambh module, which is an online orientation course for all new appointees in various government departments.
"Youth are the biggest strength of our country. The government is giving top most priority to ensure their talent is utilised in nation building", PM Modi said.
"'Rozgar Mela' is our endeavour to empower youth and make them the catalyst in national development," he added.
The module includes a code of conduct for government servants, workplace ethics and integrity, human resource policies and other benefits and allowances that will help them to get acclimatized to the policies and transition smoothly into the new roles.
