Larsen & Toubro’s hydrocarbon engineering (LTHE) division has won a “significant order” from Petronet LNG as a part of its Dahej expansion project in Gujarat, the former said in a statement on Monday. The statement refers to an order worth in the range of Rs 1,000 crore- Rs 2,500 crore.
The contract is for engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of two LNG storage tanks with a capacity of 170,000 cubic metres each for the Dahej Expansion Project in Gujarat.
It will be a joint venture promoted by four public sector companies like ONGC, Indian Oil Corporation, GAIL (India) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation.
According to the statement, “The project has been awarded through an international competitive bidding on lumpsum turnkey basis. The award demonstrates Petronet LNG’s trust on LTHE’s capability to deliver the project within a challenging schedule while ensuring excellent safety and quality performance.”
LTHE aims to be an active EPC player in achieving Government of India’s target of increasing the share of natural gas in the primary energy mix from the current 6 per cent to 15 per cent by 2030. LTHE is also executing LNG tanks for Dhamra LNG Terminal in Odisha.
