In a highly charged atmosphere, BS Yeddyurappa delivered an emotional speech and resigned prior to floor test. ‘I come from background of struggle. I lose nothing if I lose power’ said Yeddyurappa choking a few times during his speech which was reminiscent of the speech Atal Bihari Vajpayee made when his 13 day government fell. ‘I have faced test by fire all my life, I am a fighter and I will fight till my last breath’ said visibly shaken Yeddyurappa. Laying ground for 2019 Lok Sabha election, he said he will work to make BJP emerge victorious in that election and make sure that BJP wins all 28 seats.
‘If only people would have given us 113 seats instead of 104, we would have made this state a paradise’ said Yeddyurappa minutes before his government was to take a trust vote on the floor of the assembly. Kumaraswamy who won 38 seats now propped by Congress is tipped to be the next chief minister of Karnataka provided he wins the floor test.
